Unmasking Postpartum Depression Conference
“The Smiling Mask Team, Carla O'Reilly, Elita Paterson and Tania Bird, was thrilled with the results and attendance of the Unmasking Postpartum Depression conference held in the Fall of 2009. The CNT Management Team went above and beyond our expectations. There were delegates from all across Canada to listen to Margaret Trudeau as well as medical professionals and our testimonials. The resulting Call for Action culminated with the Saskatchewan Government endorsing the MotherFirst Report, which is the most comprehensive report of its kind in Canada. Thirty-six professionals representing every region and medical profession in our province, along with the Smiling Mask Team, contributed to the report. Now, all pregnant and postpartum women will be screened for their mental and emotional well-being, which was a vision shared by both us and CNT! This piece of Canadian history is due in large part to CNT Management Group’s foresight and passion for women's issues! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!!!!
